Two arrested on drug dealing charges after traffic stop

Two people were arrested in Jackson County this morning on drug dealing charges after a traffic stop by Indiana State Police.

According to Sgt. Noel Houze, spokesman for the agency, Trooper Randell Miller stopped a car at abut 3:45 this morning near the Seymour exit on Interstate 65 because of an equipment violation. Miller's police dog Jinx alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle and a search allegedly revealed a bag containing about 400 grams of Methadose, a controlled substance.

44-year-old Kenneth Hurt and 23-year -old Chad Hardin both of Jackson, Kentucky, were arrested on charges of possession of over 28 grams of a Schedule II controlled substance and conspiracy to deal in over 28 grams of a Schedule II controlled substance, both Level 2 felonies. They were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
