Jennings County Sheriff Department Maj. Jerry Shepherd says that deputies were called to a residence on Steepleworth Way on a disturbance call. Dispatch was informed that an area man was ramming his vehicle into the side of a mobile home. Deputies were told that at one point, the driver had gotten out of his vehicle, entered the home and battered three adults inside of the mobile home. The suspect left in his vehicle prior to officer's arrival.
Shepherd says that after an initial investigation, deputies went to the suspect's home located on Coventry Garden Drive. When they arrived, deputies arrested 43-year-old Greg D. Loper, of North Vernon. During the course of the arrest, authorities reportedly found methamphetamine, syringes, prescription pills and paraphernalia in Loper's possession.
Loper was booked in the Jennings County Jail on the following charges:
Possession of methamphetamine
Possession of controlled substance
Possession of syringe
Violation of legend drug act
Criminal recklessness with a vehicle
Possession of paraphernalia
Shepherd says that as of Thursday afternoon, Loper was still behind bars. There has been no word as to when Loper will go before a judge.
