Columbus residents arrested after fight, crash

Two Columbus residents were arrested Sunday morning after a fight and car crash.

Sgt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, says officers were responding to a report of a fight at about 3:15 a.m. in the 3400 block of State Road 46 when they found that a car had struck a flower planter before leaving the scene of the accident.

Lt. Jeff Williams found the car a short time later and noticed heavy damage to the front of the vehicle. 22-year-old Christopher M. Keaton, allegedly told police that he had driven the car after the accident. But witnesses identified the driver as 31-year-old Nicole L. Murray. She was arrested on preliminary charges of failing to stop after an accident and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Keaton was arrested on preliminary charges of assisting a criminal and possession of methamphetamine.
