A Columbus man is facing charges after he was apprehended Tuesday.
Columbus Police Department Spokesman Sgt. Matt Harris says just before noon, Officer John Searle observed a man on a bicycle emerge between two houses in the 2200 block of Mapleton Court. Officer Searle recognized the man as 28-year-old Kenneth Cole Sidwell, who had a warrant for his arrest out of Bartholomew Circuit Court. The officer made contact with Sidwell a short time later. After he was placed under arrest, Sidwell allegedly told officers that the pants he was wearing did not belong to him. Officers then searched Sidwell and located methamphetamine in one of the pockets of the pants we has wearing.
Sidwell was booked in the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, as well as the warrant.
